Do you accept
credit cards and debit cards?
Yes, we accept both as long as they have the logo of one of the
following: Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
Do you ship to
England, Canada and other countries?
Yes, we ship to most every country. (Note: Customs may charge
you an import duty or tax, which would need to be paid by you
upon picking up your package).
How do I order
from outside the U.S.?
The easiest and fastest way would be to place your order online
using your credit card or debit card. Prices quoted on our website
are U.S. dollars. When you view your final invoice online, the
total amount will be in U.S. dollars, however, your credit card
company will convert this amount to your local currency and the
actual amount you will pay will be reflected on your credit card
statement. Currency exchange rates fluctuate daily. To calculate
the current exchange rate for your local currency click here.
If you are outside the U.S. and
prefer to pay by mail, you must send us an international bank
draft which can be issued by your bank. The draft must be
made payable to "MeccaCentric" and must be in U.S.
dollars. The total amount must include the shipping charge.
To determine the shipping charge, please follow these instructions:
1) On our website, add the items
you want to the online shopping cart. 2) Click "checkout".
3) Fill out the form and click "continue". 4) The shipping
charge will then be displayed. Mail the check to our current
address.
Do you accept
money transfer as a method of payment (Western Union, etc.)?
No.
Do you accept
PayPal?
Yes, but please follow the detailed instructions at checkout
for completing your order correctly.
Do you do C.O.D.
(Cash on delivery)?
No.
Is your website
secure? Is my credit card information safe?
Yes, our server is secure. Your personal information is encrypted
using multi-layered, built-to-spec security system using Thawte
SSL encryption. We've been processing online orders for over
5 years and have had zero issues regarding security of customer
data.
What format are
your videos distributed in?
NTSC (North American standard).
Will the DVDs
and CDs play on my player?
All our DVDs and
VHS tapes are NTSC formatted. NTSC is the video standard for
the U.S. and Canada whereas PAL and SECAM are standards of Europe
and the Middle East. In most cases our NTSC discs and tapes will
not play properly on PAL or SECAM players. However, they will
play perfectly fine on multi-format players which are
very common outside of North America. Before you purchase our
video products, be sure that your player is compatible with the
NTSC format. Regarding the regional encoding for our DVDs, they
are encoded for all regions of the world, which means
they are not restricted for use in one particular area. Our Audio
CDs will play on all players throughout the world.
Do you give discounts
to resellers?
Yes. For details,
go to our wholesale page.
We have a company
that sells Islamic media products. Would MeccaCentric be interested
in selling our products?
No. We are strictly
a production company, not a reseller. We only sell the products
that we produce ourselves. We do this in order to maintain a
consistent level of quality and for logistical reasons.
Do you have a
store?
No. We only sell
our products via our website, phone or mail-order.
What is your mailing
address?
For our current address
Why doesn't your
1-800 telephone number work?
Our toll free 800
number only works in U.S. and Canada. If you live outside of
North America, you can call us by dialing our local
number.
What method do
you ship?
We ship all our packages
via the United States Postal Service. No tracking information
is provided.
What is your return
policy?
If
you are not satisfied with the content or quality of a product,
you can return it to us for a refund within 10 days of receiving
the order. To receive a refund, you must provide a detailed explanation
of the reason for your return. The products must also be in NEW
condition upon receipt. If the products returned are damaged
or are deemed "less than new", a restocking fee may
apply (up to 15%). Shipping charges (both ways) will not be refunded.
You can also exchange a product for a credit towards another
purchase. Defective products will be replaced for the same item
at no charge within 30 days of the order date. Please allow 2-3
weeks for the processing of all returns and exchanges. MeccaCentric
will not be obligated to honor any requests after 30 days.
I received my
package and I noticed that the postage marked on the package
is less than what I paid. Why is that?
The postage on the
package is the cost of the actual shipping. However, there are
additional costs such as packaging and handling. Generally, we
charge an additional $2 to $4 for these costs. However, sometimes
our website overestimates the shipping cost and charges you an
abnormally high amount. If this is the case, we will refund the
difference.
Why do some of
your DVDs have bonus lectures and some do not?
A typical DVD with
normal audio and video quality can hold approximately 1 hour
and 30 minutes of content. If the main lecture's duration is
less than an hour, we will usually add a bonus lecture to fill
the empty space on that DVD. Therefore, a DVD that does not have
a bonus lecture indicates that the main lecture runs longer than
1 hour.
I see that a bonus
lecture is included on a DVD but not on CD for that same title,
why?
Technically speaking,
the CD-R format (Audio CDs) do not have that same flexibility
as DVDs in terms of content compression. In simple terms, we
cannot squeeze as much data onto a CD that we can onto a DVD.
Audio CDs have a limitation of 82 minutes of audio while DVDs,
if compressed at a lower than normal setting, can hold up to
132 minutes of both audio and video. This is why you'll find
that many of our CDs do not include bonus lectures, even if their
DVD counterparts do.
Are your lectures
available for streaming online or download?
Our website currently
does not offer this feature. However, it is something we hope
to have available at some point in the future, insha' Allah.
Do you record
conferences and lectures?
We would consider
it. Click here for details.
Can I broadcast
your lectures?
MeccaCentric Da'wah
Group, producer of all the lectures in its catalog, grants total
permission and rights to publicly display or broadcast (locally) any and all lectures from its catalog.
These rights are perpetual and do not require any future authorization
from MeccaCentric for repeated displays for either previously
purchased lectures or lectures that may be purchased in the future.
The granting of these rights do not require any compensation
to MeccaCentric whatsoever other than the retail price of the
lectures themselves which was paid upon purchase. These rights
only apply to those lectures produced by MeccaCentric Da'wah
Group. The rights granted entitle you or your institute/organization
to broadcast, show, or display the lectures but not to copy them.
Copying is strictly prohibited. The rights granted apply to public
viewing, private viewing, group viewing, individual viewing,
closed-circuit broadcasting and/or local broadcasting (i.e. Public
Access) via television or radio. Rights granted do not include
national, regional, state-wide or internet broadcasting of any
kind.
Why are you selling
Islamic knowledge? Why are your lectures copyrighted? Isn't that
haram?
MeccaCentric is a
company that provides a service, much like any other company
from which you may buy products and services. Our service is
producing and providing for you high quality lectures. This service
has many expenses which must be paid for. Since we are not
subsidized and since we do not solicit donations, we must
sell the lectures we record for a reasonable amount. Your purchase
helps to support our effort of da'wah. If someone is willing
to guarantee payment for all our operating expenses on a perpetual
basis, then we would immediately begin providing our content
free of charge.
